The ESB40A has four shielded RJ45 ports and four optional AUI ports which allows for mixed media connection. The ESB40F has four dedicated Fiber ports (available in multi-mode or single mode configuration), whereas the ESB40B has four dedicated BNC (10Base2) connections.
The Switchblade series are an Ethernet Switching Hub solution that will support work groups via EtherCom Hubs or bus topology. Each of the four ports delivers dedicated 10Mbps performance, letting the network manager scale bandwidth by varying the number of stations on each port. Ethernet Switches dramatically upgrade network performance, with little or no disruption to the existing network. The ESB40 series is totally transparent to any installed network management software.
