Product Description

The EtherCom four plus one and eight plus one fanouts allow the network user to increase the number of available ports from a single node connection. Each unit has one Remote AUI port and the E4PFO has four DTE ports whereas the E8PFO has eight. These units feature dual mode operation switch select SQE test and automatic loop-back. The E8PFO has totally automatic switching for either standalone mode or backbone connection, whereas the E4PFO has manual override switch so that even if there is a connection to the backbone, the unit can be switched to automatic mode. The E8PFO is SQE selectable per port, whereas the E4PFO has one master SQE switch for all the ports.

Application Information

EtherCom’s fanout series with either four or eight DTE ports and one remote AUI port, allow you add small local work groups to the network backbone via a single drop cable, or can be switched to a stand alone mode to network small businesses or branch offices. Ideal for small offices with limited power points, the fanout series are phantom powered. That is to say they require no external power source. These units are a highly cost effective solution to your networking connectivity requirements and with the ability to cascade multiple units, when your requirements grow, simply add another unit.
